Calvin & Hobbes are all grown up – so I’ll have to grow up too…

August 2, 2011

Hey there my dear old fellows,

lately (more like always) I’ve been refusing to grow up, acting more irresponsible and struggling with myself about stuff I have to do, but I don’t want to etc. Yesterday I’ve stumbled upon several grown up Calvin & Hobbes strips, which reminded me, that growing up can be nice too :). Here an inspiration for me and my fellow-growing-up-denier:

Remember Calvin & Hobbes? Now you should meet little Bacon :)

May 16, 2011

At the beginning of this blog almost every second post was about Calvin & Hobbes, but since I’m 80% Calvin I’ve been so selfish that it’s been a year (omg, that long…) since the last Calvin & Hobbes post. Yep, it kind of was all about me last year…

But now I have to thank Ted (who was so nice to tell me about this), Dan & Tom (who are making it) for bringing some more Calvin & Hobbes to this blog, well, to be  specific Hobbes & Bacon. Here little Bacon meets old Hobbes, enjoy ❗ :

Sweet Kristin told me, that I’m intelligent. I enjoy that little compliment (10x Kristin), but it just got me thinking about what did I enjoy about it and what does intelligent means after all?

What could look intelligent on that blog, written in poor English and representing nothing but some random, spontaneous thoughts? Do you think I’m intelligent? Do you think you’re intelligent? What do you think that intelligent means?

There are a bunch of theories of intelligence and I don’t want to bother you with them, because they can’t give you an answer to these questions. You need to define it for yourself. So do I.

So for me intelligence is really simple, it’s about being open-minded, getting along and having some kind of concept of the world around you. Of course creativity will be well received too:

I don’t really care what a test would tell me about it, but I still enjoy such little nice compliments and I’m glad when I score good in a test. Why? Because I think of me as of an intelligent person and I enjoy an occasional compliment, because that means to me that my self-perception is not so deluded and that others see me at least a little bit like I see myself. What about you?

If Calvin took Ritalin…

April 2, 2010

I’ve found that on the Laughing Squid and it shows just how sad the world would be, If the overuse of medicines keeps going and if people and doctors keep take and give pills so easily…

And luckily later on I’ve found a follow-up too 🙂

Calvin & Hobbes: How it all began…

March 27, 2010

I love Calvin & Hobbes! How come?…

I was sitting in the fourth lecture in social psychology and I was trying to keep up with the German language as the Prof. showed us this comic strip in order to illustrate self-esteem:

Calvin and Jobs :)

February 19, 2010

The MAD-Magazine has released some really amusing Calvin and Hobbes “Fanart” featuring Steve Jobs: “Calvin and Jobs”. It’s a lot of fun, take a look at it 😉

Sick of school :(

February 16, 2010

I’m probably as deluded as Calvin, but I’m sick of school too! It’s enough now! And I actually have min. 5 more years to go for a therapist 😦 … Do we really need that?

Resolutions ;)

January 1, 2010

Happy new year, guys 😉

And of course the obligatory post with my new year’s resolutions:

1. To study for an exam early enough (early enough means earlier than one week before the exam… )

2. To say NO, when it’s better and convenient for me- not always trying to do that too and see if the limit will be reached this time…

3. To spend less time on the computer and to spend it more efficiently

What are your resolutions?

Or you’re just like Calvin:

To get or to have?

Grown-up Calvin & Hobbes

Hi 🙂

Here is one interesting “Motivation picture” from the Blog of Garry Canavan- I don’t really know who the author is, but it’s worth showing:

I really agree with it. You should never forget about the child in you and may be trough your children you’ll pass it forward…

Best regards,

your  little older coping koala 😉
